The French Girl Summer Outfit Formula

Thanks to French mega-babes like Jeanne Damas, Louise Follain and Anne-Laure Mais, you can forget about the Little Black Dress and even the Little White Dress, for that matter. Summer 2017 is going to be all about the Little Red Dress. Plain, dotted or floral; pair it with your favorite mules, a straw bag—extra points if it’s the coveted Birkin basket—and cat eye sunglasses, and you’ve got yourself the French girl-approved summer outfit formula of your Nouvelle Vague dreams. I feel as though every summer collection this year features an iteration of the LRD; from Mango’s sold out version to Reformation’s Almost French collection featuring another Franco it-girl, Camille Charriere. And, of course, I have to mention up and coming label Réalisation Par which has taken Instagram by storm with their blouses and dresses that are bound make you feel equal parts ingénue and femme fatale.
