When we think of holiday beauty, usually red lips and nails come to mind, right? What about red eyeshadow? Probably not. But I’d like to make a case for it. If you’re looking to spice up your look this season, do try this at home! For this look I used Lucia Pica’s first collection for Chanel Beauty; Chanel Rouge Nº1. The eye shadow palette is Les 4 Ombres in “Candeur Et Expérience” which comes with three matte brownish colors and one matte red; I used mostly the red on my lid to create a smokey eye and the lightest brown on my brow bone. Then I lined my lower eyelid with Chanel’s waterproof eyeliner in a metallic red called “Eros”, it’s absolutely stunning and added a cool shine to my eyes. The contrast of the iridescent liner with the matte shadow is amazing. Before seeing this collection and the beautiful photos of it with Kristen Stewart, I would’ve never thought red lips and red eyeshadow would work together and not look like overkill. But honestly, Pica knows what she’s doing! There are several red lipsticks in the collection, I went with Rouge Allure in “Rouge Tentation” and lined my lips with “Seduction“. As for my nails, they’re Le Vernis in “Rouge Puissant“; the PERFECT red! Seriously, it’s divine and works with any skin tone. As for my hair, I just piled on a ton of Bumble & Bumble’s Brilliantine to slick it back and then fixed it with hairspray, tough I actually wanted to put mousse all over it for a more wet look but I was short on time and had to improvise.
Share your thoughts with me in the comment section, I’d love to know if you’re gonna try it or what you’re gonna go with for the holidays!
