New Year, New Horizon

I’m not really big on New Year’s Resolutions, per se. I honestly think it’s because I’m afraid of failure, and sometimes even afraid of success, and I don’t want to feel pressured or set myself up for disappointment. Nevertheless, I always have goals that I carry around in my head from year to year… They are resolutions I disguise as things I eventually want to accomplish or milestones I some day want to reach. You might think those can be the same as a resolution, but not quite. Resolutions have a time frame, a deadline; twelve little months is all we got to do whatever we set our minds to, come January 1st. I find it terrifying. Which is why this year, I think it’s time to stop being so afraid and commit to resolve on at least three subjects. Maybe that can count as one: resolve to resolve from now on. Phew! That was easy! Just kidding. No coasting allowed!

Of course, no New Year’s Resolutions list would be complete without some health and fitness related promise; I really need to eat healthy from Monday through Friday, at the very least, and go back to training four times a week. I have been a liiittle out of control for a few months now and it’s really taking its toll on my body, not just on the outside.

Next up, there has to be something work related. I think the most important thing this year is for me to achieve balance between my graphic design practice and my blogging. I love doing both, and I make a living from both, but I need to optimize my routine. So basically, get organized!

Last, but definitely not least. I want to take better care of my relationships. I want to be a better wife, friend, daughter, sister, aunt, etc. Because no matter where we are in life; whether we’re fat, skinny, rich, poor, successful or not; our friends and families will always be there to help us, motivate us and love us.

Tell me, what are your resolutions for 2015?
