Although I shopped and ate maybe a little too much in Barcelona—who am I kidding, there’s no such thing as shopping or eating too much when you’re a bon vivant, am I right?—I was actually there for Barcelona Bridal Week, the fashion week of wedding gowns. Spain is known for its lace, hence they’re world renowned fine makers of bridal gowns and wedding dresses. I was so thrilled to have been invited by Rosa Clará, one of said fine dress makers, to view their 2017 collection as their exclusive guest from Panama. Truly honored. Back in 2014, when I got married, Rosa Clará was one of the boutiques I visited here in my city to look for wedding dresses. I love their Soft collection. Unfortunately for me, fortunately for the other girl, Rosa Clará only stocks one of each style per city. The dress I wanted had already been bought, so I couldn’t wear Rosa Clará for my wedding. But that’s one of the things I like about them. They know this is the most special day and every bride wants to feel unique, original and one of a kind. With endless options for white dresses, it’s a hard goal to achieve. Nevertheless, Rosa Clará delivers.
Their 2017 collection was so, so beautiful. I already anticipated that I was going to regret having been married in 2014, versus 2017; just kidding! But really, in all seriousness. The minimalist vibe that permeated throughout the entire runway show was gorgeous. I could already picture the decor and floral arrangements that would go with the dresses. I was daydreaming; totally transported through Rosa Clará’s designs. And isn’t that what fashion, and even bridal fashion is all about? A means by which to dream, to travel to another reality, to reminisce or anticipate, to escape the mundane. Don’t you think? I do.
Thank you Rosa Clará for having me!
