Don’t you just love it when a trend comes along (or back) and you realize you have all the ingredients just hanging around in your closet waiting for you to put them together into an awesome outfit? I do! It’s so easy to get caught up in consumerism and think you need to go out and buy everything when seasons change and new collections hit stores. It takes a little bit more effort to reevaluate your wardrobe and see how you can mix things into relevancy again; but as with everything… The harder something is to achieve, the more rewarding the results are —as is the case with this outfit.
Slip dresses are back people! And this one by Tibi is one of two I’ve owned for more than two years. As for the cropped top I layered underneath it, it is almost a year old. Granted, they are not vintage or anything. But in the current era of fast fashion and micro seasons, anything over three months is considered old.
The accessories, on the other hand, are recent purchases. I just want to use my new and lovely Uterqüe boots all day, every day; so why not?! And to top it all off, I broke in my new barrette from Dream Collective in Silverlake, California. If you live in LA or are visiting at some point, it is one of the most unique stores ever. Everything is a piece of art.
So there you go. Two old things + two new things= one old/new trend.
Thanks for reading!
