Hello, Spring

Panama only has two seasons; rainy and dry—or “winter” and summer, respectively. In terms of fashion, Spring Summer collections are the most relevant for us down here in the tropics. We can’t exactly keep up with Fall Winter trends, so from October until almost April I’m left with some serious sartorial FOMO each time I browse through my Instagram feed. Now’s the time I can finally partake in the collective celebration of fashion, with everyone eager to put away their coats and boots, and break out their sandals and straw bags. I’m really excited about straw bags! This one here is from Spanish label Purificación García. As for my sandals, I’m really, really excited about them too. They’re by Maryam Nassir Zadeh and I got them at Bruni, a newly opened accessories boutique in Panama that has the most beautifully curated selection of shoes, jewelry, bags and watches. They’re also the first store in Panama to carry cult magazines such as Kinfolk, Gather and The Travel Almanac. Plus, I did all of their branding and the owners designed the space and furniture themselves. It’s been a dream to work together with them and I can’t wait to show you more! In the mean time, you can check out their Instagram and preview my designs for them here.

  • I totally get how you feel – when I lived in India I was also suffering the infamous seasonal FOMO but now in London it’s so fun to have all the seasons but like you I am so excited to have spring finally here! I love your straw bag – it is so beautiful and colourful! Clearly I need to get my straw bag collection started!

    • Ughhh!!! So jelly of you living in London! Not just because you get to do seasonal dressing but also because… London! And yes, get your straw bag collection going, you wont regret it 🙂

  • I’ve been loving seeing all these ‘beach’ bags made for the street, everyday use!

Loads of straw and wood bags, where once I would have stayed clear I’m finding myself strangely taking a liking to them! Think they have that sophisticated feel to them and make me dream of being in paradise! I can only dream 🙂

    • I know!!! I also love the unexpectedness of using an item outside of the occasion or location it was made for. I always love outfits with something off or unexpected 🙂 Thanks so much for reading and commenting Heather! xo

  • I am certainly enjoying the moment with straw bags making a come back, specially the destination / souvenir ones !
And I’m with you on the FOMO, pero con este calor no se puede salir a la calle embotada!
