If you’re following me on Instagram you may have noticed I was recently in New York. I traveled there with and by invitation of the lovely folks from Coach, together with a great group of fellow bloggers and journalists from Colombia, Panama and Peru. We were there to attend Coach’s annual Summer High Line Party, so—luckily—they put us up at The Standard High Line! It was my first time staying at the infamous hotel, although I have ended up partying there on many a late night out in New York. I absolutely loved the sort of retro, slightly nautical vibe of the minimal decor in the room. Even though The Standard is known for its bustling nightlife—earplugs are readily available as part of the complimentary bathroom offerings—I’ve never had a more quiet night’s sleep in New York City. For real! It was a wonderful stay. I loved all the different restaurant options, but my favorite was The Standard Grill. I’m a sucker for patterned floors and bentwood chairs. My only complaint pet peeve about staying at The Standard was the trippy video art looping in the elevators against an ominous waltz. That thing was stuck in my head for days.
More photos of my trip with Coach coming very soon.
