An Early Aughts-Inspired Bold Eyeliner Look

I haven’t used bright or bold colors on my eyes in so long! I used to be obsessed with eyeshadow and I owned every possible color under the rainbow. It was the early 2000s and I had just begun experimenting with my look, so I guess you can’t blame me. But then, as time went by, I started to get comfortable with certain colors and realizing they were flattering and easy to work with—like gold, bronze, taupe, mauve, brown and charcoal tones—and little by little, I began to retire my more saturated options to the bottom of my makeup kit. Well, with all the 90s and early aughts trends making a comeback, I thought I’d give bold eyeshadow another try; e.l.f. Cosmetics gifted me this electric teal cream eyeliner, but I’m not much of a liner or cat eye gal. I’m thinking of trying it for a future post, but for this one I decided to smudge it for a kind of next-day look. Which actually used to happen a lot to me back in those days, since I was terrible at washing my face at night (tisk, tisk! Shame on me!). I have to admit, I love the way it turned out. I missed trying new things with my makeup and this definitely got me excited again for color, so expect to see a little more of it around here in the near future.
